Prof. Dr. Çetin Evliyaoğlu
Brain Nerve and Spinal Cord Surgery Specialist
Born in Ankara in 1964, he graduated from Ankara Ergenekon primary school and TED Ankara College middle and high school. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1988.
Between 1988-1990, he worked as an orthopedic assistant at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine and did compulsory service as a general practitioner in SSK Zonguldak Hospital and dispensaries.
Between 1990-1995, he received specialty training at Ankara Numune Hospital Neurosurgery Clinic.
Between 1993-1997, he attended and completed EANS (European Association of Neurosurgical Society) courses in Belgium, Turkey, Austria and Denmark.
In 1994, he attended Hacettepe University Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry Microneurosurgery special training program.
In 1994, he attended the “World Federation of Neurosurgical Society” training course.
In June 1996, he started to work as an Assistant Professor at Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery.
In November 1996, he attended the “Image Guided Surgery” course in Heidelberg, Germany.
Between July 1997 and November 1998, he worked as a Neurooncology Research Fellow under Dr. Peter Mc.L. Black at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital Neurosurgery Clinic in Boston, USA.
In 1999, he attended the WFNS (World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies) training course.
Between May-June 2000, he worked as a fellow in skull base surgery and functional and stereotactic neurosurgery at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine.
In November 2000, he attended the applied skull base course on craniovertebral junction anatomy and surgical approaches at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine.
In October 2001, he was appointed as Assistant Professor at Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery.
Between 2001-2004, he served as the assistant editor of TND Turkish Journal of Neurosurgery.
2002 Surgical Navigation Education Program, 2003 Turkish Neurosurgical Association Stereotactic Neuronavigation Course, 2005 Louisville- USA Medtronic Navigation Education Center “Advanced Cranial StealthStation System Training” and “Spine Navigation Training” courses.
In 2005, he became an Associate Professor.
In 2006, he became the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine.
In 2009, he came to Istanbul and worked as a Neurosurgery specialist in private hospitals. In 2017, he was appointed as a Professor at Beykent University and continued his academic duty at the School of Health Sciences between 2017-2020.
Since 2022, he has been teaching Neurosurgery courses at the Faculty of Medicine as a Faculty Member at Demıroğlu Bilim University.
He still serves his patients as a freelance Neurosurgery specialist in his own practice and as a Neurosurgery Consultant physician at Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale Hospital.
Neurooncology, spinal surgery and endoscopic neurosurgery are his special interests.
He is a member of Turkish Neurosurgical Society and Turkish Geriatrics Society. He is a founding member of TND Neurooncologic Surgery Teaching and Training Group and a member of TND Surgical Neuroanatomy Teaching and Training Group and TND Spinal and Peripheral Nerve Surgery Teaching and Training Group.
He is married and has 2 children.
He has a total of 39 domestic and international publications and 58 papers.
He speaks English and German.
